School Council

School Council

The School Council, which is made up of parents and staff, is responsible for defining the Policy of the school.
School Council nominations are called for annually – one half of the membership being replaced each year.
We encourage parents to nominate for School Council positions.
Meetings are usually on the second Tuesday of the month at 5.30 pm. Annual elections are held in March.

Parent & Community Involvement

The community plays a central role in school life and we often have activities to invite the community into the school such as Mother’s Day and Bloke’s day, morning teas or BBQs. Auskick matches, swimming sports, athletics and the cross country events, soirees, and ‘The Annual Award and Concert Night’ are very well attended. Many parents help out with these activities.

The community is very supportive of fundraising activities such as quiz nights, cent nights, raffles and jam and relish sales. The Cann River School’s blackberry jam has a well-deserved reputation for excellence that extends far beyond the town.
